Excluding driving, there are five options for getting to downtown Savannah and nearby districts. These include traveling by bus, private shuttle, hotels shuttle, taxi or limousine.
All forms of transportation leave from outside the front of the terminal near the Baggage Reclaim area and run throughout the day, most of which operate at regular intervals.
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) bus number 2 offers the cheapest option for getting to downtown Savannah from the airport. Buses run in the mornings and afternoons and take about 35 minutes to get to downtown. In addition, the CAT Teleride transportation system offers door-to-door transportation for disabled people.
There are several shuttle bus operations that are available for transfers from Savannah International Airport (SAV). The most popular shuttle routes include downtown Savannah, Beaufort, Hinesville and Statesboro. Shuttles are wheelchair accessible and run 24 hours a day on a point-to point basis. Shuttle operations include Low Country Adventures / Gray Line and B & B Shuttle.
Hotel Shuttle Buses
Many of Savannah's hotels offer free airport shuttle service for those who have a reservation at their establishment. The list below displays some of the hotels in Savannah that operate courtesy shuttles: Baymont Inn and Suites, Best Western Inn, Comfort Inn and Suites, Days Inn, Econo Lodge, Hampton Inn, Hawthorne Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Red Roof Inn, Sleep Inn and Westin Savannah Harbor. Many more hotels operate free shuttles, a list of which can be found on a board posted in Arrivals.
The fastest way to get to your hotel or downtown Savannah is to take a taxi. Taxi cabs leave from directly outside the Baggage Reclaim area exit to all points and at reasonable rates. Several taxi cab companies operate from Savannah International Airport including: Adam Cab Company, Bay City Cab Company, Executive Taxi, Moon River Taxi, Scott's Taxi, Sunshine Cab, Taxi Service of Savannah and Yellow Cab Company.
Several limousine operations serve downtown Savannah and other districts for added comfort; there is a limousine booth at Savannah International Airport (SAV) outside the terminal exit.
